- We've got DVR baby! We waited until Adelphia had a unit for our area, and now here it is. We went to the Adelphia place Friday night, and they said that they had been out of them since 12:30 that afternoon. They said we'd have to be there first thing in the morning to get one of the ones just then getting off the truck. I was there 8 am Saturday morning, and was first in line to get one! So far, we're really excited, and the Super Bowl is the first place we are using it.
- I am somewhat shocked that John Fogerty is singing. Before the moving tribute to The Greatest Generation in the pregame, that preceding a beautiful National Anthem, we got to hear Fortunate Son. I am too young to remember the Vietnam War, so that song is really the only way for me to see exactly how poisonous the mentality of the anti-war movement was.
- The GoDaddy commercial kind of sucked, and the FedEx commercial featuring Burt Reynolds getting kicked in the groin (the commercial courtesy of Hans Moleman) was pretty bad, I thought.
- How many times do they need to show the Ford frozen-man-in-convertible commercial?
- The Anheuser-Busch commercial where people applaud soldiers as they pass through a civilian airport was possibly the most moving one yet.
- The best team won. Boston's ground game was very impressive, and with both teams defenses being able to stop the passing game, I believe it was the key to victory for the Patriots. It was a very enjoyable game to watch.
Update: Michelle Malkin blogs the
reaction to the Anheuser-Busch ad.
